Project in Brief

Swim coach Darren Gum needed a bio for his website, so I wrote this one for him.

Darren Gum has coached the adult swim group Fossils since 2001. As a kid, he thought he'd swim faster if he ate fish. And apparently it worked. Holder of the Asia Pacific 50-meter freestyle record (1998), Gum is also the winner of the New South Wales 1999 Top Gun award, and was ranked as the fastest Masters swimmer in Australia in 1999 and 2000.

He has more than 30 Gold Australian Masters national medals.

On dry land, Darren has wrestled with a fascination for fast cars and loud music. In the past, he's taught advanced driving techniques and studied at the School of Audio Engineering.
